Cookie Policy
Effective date: 14 July 2026
Version 2026-07-14 · replaces the policy of 5 July 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used by edsmartly.com and app.edsmartly.com, operated byAxiom Intelligence Partners LLC.
The short version. We use only the cookies needed to sign you in and remember which campus you are working in. Our visitor analytics is cookieless — it stores nothing on your device and cannot follow you anywhere. There is no advertising, no tracking pixel and no cross-site profiling. You can still switch analytics off, and it will genuinely stop loading.
1. Exactly what we use
| Name | Category | What it does | Where | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Supabase auth session | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in to the copilot app. | app.edsmartly.com | Session, up to 12 months |
eds_campus | Strictly necessary | Remembers which campus you are working in, if you belong to more than one. Set server-side and not readable by scripts. | app.edsmartly.com | 12 months |
eds_consent | Strictly necessary | Remembers your choice on this page. Stored in your browser's local storage, not as a cookie. | edsmartly.com | Until you clear it |
| Cloudflare Web Analytics | Analytics | Counts visits and page views. Sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device. | edsmartly.com | Nothing is stored |
| — | Advertising | None. We run no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels and no cross-site profiling. | — | — |
2. Why there is no consent banner — and why you still get a real switch
Cookie-consent law is about storing information on your device, or reading it back. Two things follow:
- Strictly necessary cookies are exempt. Without them, signing in does not work — so there is no meaningful choice to offer.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics stores nothing at all. It sets no cookie, writes nothing to your device, uses no fingerprinting, and cannot follow you to other websites. It reports how many people viewed a page — never who you are. Because nothing is placed on your device, there is nothing to consent to.
So we inform you rather than block you with a consent wall you cannot meaningfully refuse.
We give you the off switch anyway. In Cookie preferences you can turn Analytics off, and the Cloudflare script will not load at all — not merely be recorded as unwanted. A preference centre whose toggles change nothing is theatre, and we would rather it worked.
3. Third parties that can see your IP address
Every request your browser makes reveals your IP address to whoever answers it. That is how the internet works, and we would rather list it than let you discover it. On EdSmartly, those parties are:
- Netlify — serves this website and the app.
- Cloudflare — serves the analytics beacon described above.
- Font delivery — the typefaces used across this site are served from our own servers. No third-party font services are used.
None of them set cookies on this site, and none of them build a profile of you for us.
4. Managing your choices
- Open Cookie preferences at any time — it is linked in the footer of every page.
- Turning Analytics off stops the beacon loading on every page you visit afterwards.
- Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off. Blocking them in your browser will break sign-in.
- You can clear cookies and local storage at any time in your browser settings.
5. If this ever changes
If we introduce a new technology, we will publish a new version of this policy first. And if we ever adopt anything that does require consent — anything that stores or reads information on your device for advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking — we will ask you before it runs, not after.
